  • Jun. 4th, 2009 at 10:34 PM

OMG THIS PAST WEEK HAS BEEN CRAZY.

Okay, so I went on cruise. Already said that. But then my brother split his lip in half at 10:30 PM on Tuesday and he had to get sticthes. That was hilarious. And then I find out I don't have to be in school tomorrow because I don't have an exam (which is awesome). And then I had to give a presentation in English class about A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers and I nearly fainted (and yet that book is amazing, everyone has to read it, I loved it).

And then I find out when Muse is playing in London. OMG MY MOM BETTER LET ME BUY A TICKET OR I WILL, UM, I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO BUT I'D DEFINITELY DO SOMETHING!!!

Okay, I'm being a whore again but I just went to go show some support again so I have to advertise them again, so here you go: http://www.myspace.com/pleasedontfeedtheanimalz
Please, just check them out. Please?

Okay yeah, I had such a greaaatttttt time tonight. My bro's first gig!!! Yay! Okay, so he's the bass player and they really really are great. Maybe I'll post a video later but for now I'm too tired due to it being almost 1 AM and I want to go to bed. But for now, if you really want to (and you do, oh yes you do) here's their myspace and you can listen to three of their songs.

Okay, you're gonna have to copy and paste that, I can't figure out html crap this late (early?). (EDIT: LOL never mind!!! I'm an idiot :P)

Yay!!!!

Best song of the night: I Can See Clearly. They have, like, the only rock cover of that song in existence. It's so rock-tastic (and yes, I can use that word).

Anyway, so my brother Eric is the bass player (like I said), Kae, she is the drummer, Scott is the guitarist guy and Oscar is the singer.

I don't know why I just told you that, but whatever, in case you're curiosity was killing you!

I loved my parents, they actually let me and Eric stay out till 12! That is unheard of in my family! They trust me, so I guess that's part of the reason. They wouldn't have done it for Eric, haha.

Okay, I'm really tireddddd, but hyper at the same time (just had coffeee..... WHYYY????)

Okay, bye now! CHECK OUT THE BANDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<3 yall

Kill me now.

  • May. 8th, 2009 at 3:58 PM

Yeah, the exam kind of sucked. I don't think I bombed it, but it wasn't pretty. I should have studied more, especially about pre-Revolutionary days. Ugh.

Oh well, at least it's done. 50% finished with exams!

I'm not doing anything with history anyway, so I guess it's not that important. :p

OH YEAH, I saw the funniest sign today. It was in front of a church, and it said "Afraid of Identity Fraud? Come find Jesus, and He'll find your True Identity!" I was like, yeah, cuz that relates. :p

Wow, I fail at this thing called studying.

  • May. 7th, 2009 at 4:14 PM

Yesterday I was trying to study history. I ended up on Facebook. When do I ever use Facebook? For those of you who don't know me (i.e. all of you) I feel like social networking sites are a total waste of time. So why last night? When I had more important shit to do?

I don't know. I think it's because of this "new leaf." I'm trying to not be socially awkward and anxious around people. I'm a bit late in entering the conversation with most people at school, but I'm trying. And pretty much the entire school is networked with each other on Facebook, so whatever.

But here's my thing with Facebook. Yeah, it's great for keeping in touch. But you also get those weird apps like "Be a Superhero" and "Superpoke Pets" or crazy shit like that. Oh, and you can compare people and "see how you stack up against your friends." To be honest, that app used to be a major source of anxiety for me. I know that sounds stupid, but I pretty much panicked every time I saw "you lost. See against whom" I was like "Oh noez, someone doesn't like me!" Yeah, I know, stupid. But whatever. I am trying so hard to get rid of that weirdness, and I am going to do it without a certain person's help. :p

But today I've been all, "let's check email!" or "let's get on frikkin youtube and catch up on What the Buck!" I've even spent way too much time on freakin MSN. I swear I've changed my status on that thing fifty gazillion times. Only two people are online, so I have to do SOMETHING to ease the boredom, you know?

Maybe I should just study. Yeah, studying's nice. But not if it's US history!! I was just talking to a friend of mine from Texas and I don't know, I think it's funny that a little thing called AP exams can be a unifying factor across a freaking OCEAN. Yeah, she's taking the same exam as me (only I'm taking it 6 hours earlier. Damn.)Whatever. Tomorrow is going to kill me.

I just realized that I logged in to LiveJournal on my friend's computer and she never deletes her history. I hope to God she never reads my crap. Why oh why did I decide to make this one not private? Whatever, I guess I really don't care. I just can't say anything bad about her. Why you moving back to Maryland? Huh?

This entry has been kind of pointless. Really pointless. I'm just being very procrastinatory (is that a word?). I don't wanna study. I'm listening to freaking Fall Out Boy. Now, those guys can put you in a good mood. :)

Honestly though, I reallllyyyyyyy have to go. I say that now, only I know I'm going to be on the Internet for at least another hour. I am so going to fail my exam tomorrow. :(

Writer's Block: How'd You Get Here?

There are many roads to LiveJournal—how did you first hear about LJ?

I already made a post today, but I am going to answer this question simply because I remember the answer.

Two years ago, when I was in ninth grade, my high school library's website had a list of links to the blogs of different YA authors. One of them was Sarah Dessen (whose books I was obsessed with at the time) and she had a LiveJournal. So did Libba Bray. I thought it was awesome, because before I hadn't known about the concept of a blog. I had to wait until I was in tenth grade though before I actually got my own computer and was able to have my own blog. So, yeah, I've only been doing it for about a year (and I ended up deleting my first one), but whatever! I like it. ;)

Gosh

I hate re-reading entries and noticing spelling errors. "Six thing" NO. "Sixth thing." GET IT RIGHT, KRISTIN, GEEZ!!

Alrighty, now that that's off my chest, I really want to start vlogging. I have several favorite vloggers on YouTube, and I want to join in on the fun. Except there's one teensy-weensy problem that exists in the shape of a lack of a video camera. Yeah, that's kind of an issue. So I asked my mom if she might get me one for my 18th b-day (which sounds reasonable, don't you think? Even if my b-day isn't till September). And she said, "Well, I have a better idea. Why don't you take my old video camera?" And then I was like, "Um, you already said it. It's OLD." And seriously, it is. It records on freaking TAPES, no joke. So, yeah, I tried explaining to her that I want a small camcorder that I could carry around with me and will use a memory card so I can upload stuff to my computer and then she blows her top going all "That's the problem with this family! Everyone always wants new stuff. Old stuff is just fine, so long as it works. Be happy with what you have!!" And that really bothered me, seeing as I rarely ask for anything new. I wear my clothes/shoes till there are holes in them. I never asked for an iPod, but when I got one I was pleased. That was three years ago, and I haven't asked for a new one since. I just recently got a new digital camera. The digital camera I had previously I had owned since I was litereally 8 years old. It had 3.2 megapixels, which just happens to be just as good as the camera on my PHONE (yeah, first new phone in several years, and the only one I've ever had that cost more than $20). So, yeah, I think my mom was being a little bit unfair.

Since I don't want to make this entry nothing but a rant, let's talk about something else. Hmmmm. AP exams are coming up. Calculus is on Wednesday, but right now I'm studying for U.S. History. Psychology and English are next week.

Hmmmmmm.

I need to get on facebook more often. My friends keep on trying to send me crap, and I never get it because I'm kind of anti-social-networking-site-ish. Whatever.

Hmmmmmmmm.

Okay, now I'm trying really hard to come up with something, but I can't, so before I have to use an lj-cut, I'm going to leave. Okay, BYE!

First thing: SAT.
I just took it yesterday. Note to anyone planning on taking it-- don't think you can hold it if you have to go to the bathroom. Use the breaks given to you. If you don't you will be spending the last three sections dancing in your chair instead of concentrating on sentence structures.
I think I did pretty well though, otherwise.

Second thing: Wolverine.
That movie kind of sucked. I was expecting so much more out of it. I mean, I understand it was only about Wolverine/Logan/Jimmy but then they shouldn't have advertised so much about the other characters. I was going to see Gambit, dammit! I was so excited for all these extra characters, and they were only in about five minutes of the film. In other words they shouldn't have made all the fan kids that excited over nothing. And there were too many fight scenes, some of which didn't even make a lot of sense. Oh well.

Third thing: My sis's party last night.
Argh, they were noisy. That is all.

Fourth thing: New Leaf.
Yep, to use that overused cliche, I am turning over a new leaf. I just had a bunch of revelations today, enough to think that I'm not going to need therapy for much longer. Hopefully this week will be my last. I don't know, I kind of feel like a new person.

Fifth thing: The Beatles.
I never thought I would like them. I like them.

Six thing: Memoirs.
I have to read a memoir for English, and I'm not sure which one I should read. Help, anyone?
